Snøhetta : Aesop

Between the Norwegian architecture agency Snøhetta and the Australian cosmetics brand Aesop, it's a real love story that began when the firm entrusted the studio to design its shop in Oslo (Norway). Six other stores followed. The latest, located in London (UK), has been imagined as a futuristic haunt of villains by James Bond.

It's in the trendy Chelsea neighborhood that the new Aesop point of sale, a skincare brand with original stalls, takes its place. On 108 square meters, the single-storey commercial space is organized around a central point, from which twelve arches extend towards the walls, in the style of a slowly unfolded origami. This pillar is surrounded by a circular sink - a common feature of all the brand's stores - made of polished stainless steel and fiberglass, whose reflective nature evokes a mirror of water, a fountain of youth.

The walls and vaults are coated with pink clay from the south-west of the country, reminiscent of the natural base of the products, while contrasting with the vertical steel displays arranged along the partitions. The whole offers, like the care proposed by Aesop, a mix between contemporaneity and tradition through assembly of materials and textures.

A refined and enigmatic setting that is in line with the unique achievements of Snøhetta for the company, all over the world.
