MOD : RACE Laboratory

In Singapore, local architects of the MOD (Ministry Of Design) design RACE robotics firm dedicated space in search of engineers specialized in new automation technologies. What better than to offer them a futuristic space to inspire?

Visitors enter this place of 243 square meters with a lift located in a dark airlock where the only light comes from neon signs showing the name of the firm and the geometrical arrangement of white lines framing - MOD has also created the overall visual identity of the company.

An oversized door then opens on the laboratory itself, but also black coated with a three-second skin. This wall ornament is manufactured from aluminum tubes of various sizes, some of which are enhanced with LED strips. The horizontality is in direct confrontation with verticality. In addition to the esthetic, this coating has the advantage of hiding all necessary cables to the proper functioning of the robotics lab, while remaining accessible through hatches, and create workspaces for small groups.

"MOD also sought to create an attractive and futuristic spatial experience denoting the idea of industrial automation and accuracy. " Ministry Of Design

With this unusual place, MOD teams made a place out of time and space, conducive to the development and innovation in robotics.
