Pezo von Ellrichshausen & Felice Varini : Hall for Hull, avec « Trois points de Vue »

To all lovers of Felice Varini's work, rush to Trinity Square Park, located in the old town of Hull (United Kingdom), where the Swiss artist has teamed up with Chilean architects Pezo von Ellrichshausen implementation of a temporary structure A Hall for Hull, with "Three Points of View".

With its 16 columns six meters high in perforated galvanized steel, the monumental installation is part of the policy of valuing the square of the Church of the Holy Trinity, which already hosts many local events. To this end, the dressing of this intermediate space, positioned between the street and the holy place, was entrusted to the South American duo Pezo von Ellrichshausen and to the plastic artist Felice Varini, famous for his anamorphoses that interact with architecture and landscape urban.

Commissioned by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the ensemble is part of the local cultural program Look Up - including exhibitions, interactive tours or works on-site -, which allows the inhabitants of Hull to see their city from a new angle.

The three hand-painted realizations on the metal are to be seen from a point of view specific to each of them, from which the walker discovers a set of circles. The artist here deceives our eye and redefines virtually the geometry created by the rigorous arrangement of the pillars. Passers-by are invited to look for the right angle to discover the perspective chosen by the visual artist by walking between the columns which, thanks to their breakthroughs, produce light play and an impression of lightness.

A collaboration that proves that, even with massive elements, it is possible to realize delicate and poetic works.

Hall for Hull with "Three Points of View", until 12 November 2017, Trinity Square, Hull (England).
