Événement : KM3

On the occasion of the 375th anniversary of the city of Montreal (Canada), the Quartier des spectacles comes alive to the rhythm of the KM event3, pronounced "cubic kilometers", an artistic journey bringing together visual and digital arts, interactive design, fashion, dance or architecture.

On the initiative of the Montreal Quartier des spectacles Partnership, a non-profit organization responsible for developing the cultural events of the sector, the Québec capital reinvented itself until 15 October thanks to the intervention of many visual artists, designers selected by the curators of the event: Melissa Mongiat and Mouna Andreaos, from the design studio Daily every day; Julie Bélisle, Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art; and Pascale Daigle, Director of Partnership Programming. Together, the members of this committee imagined an educational and aesthetic walk organized around the theme of "good neighbors", for which young talents were invited to imagine different ways of living together.

"The journey offers moments of stoppage and so many engaging works that bring participants to awaken their senses: to smile, to get in touch with others, to question, to reflect on the city. " Pascale Daigle, Director of Programming for the Quartier des spectacles Partnership

Interactive, playful or immersive, the twenty works of local and foreign artists scattered in the heart of this part of the City of Light allow visitors to rediscover the urban landscape, whether through facilities diverting symbolic elements of the city with the thousand steeples, as Our DNA, directed by Patrick Bérubé featuring a spiral staircase suspended in the air, ubiquitous in the Montréal landscape and embodying the culture of neighborhood; or with the help of light creations lighting the walkers after dark, following the example of prrr directed by the collective ATOMIC3, inviting passersby to borrow a discrete street leading to a small typical house. Other interventions, such as Advance Together of Them Games and Lebleu Denastas, who invest the stairs of the Place des Arts, entertain young and old with vibrant colors and collaborative games.

A light and colorful itinerary that questions the relationship of our cousins from the Far North to their urban environment while animating the cultural quarter the capital of Quebec.
